…And Tag, I’m It

December 18th, 2006

I turned thirty on December 16th, the same day I realized I had been tagged.

It seemed apropos, so here I am, writing a list of five things not commonly known about me. It’s a surprisingly difficult task. Not only am I am open book, but I don’t really think I’m terribly interesting, so sitting here and making a list of things that are not only little known, but that might be considered interesting is a bit unnerving.

1. Although I am not longer a Christian, and haven’t been for almost fifteen years, I still have nightmares about demons and Satan. I grew up in the sort of household where talk of demons and angels was commonplace, and I learned more than any normal child should about demons and the occult. When I have these dreams, I often wake myself up mumbling The Lord’s Prayer.

2. If I could have any job in the world, and the requisite skill set to perform any job in the world . . .I would be a web designer. I’d do exactly what I’m doing right now. I wouldn’t be working where I’m working; working for a small but talented woman-owned design firm could be very cool. But it’s a really incredible feeling to know that I’m doing exactly what I want.

3. I have a very strange set of personal ethics. I will download hundreds of dollars worth of pirated software, and I feel absolutely no compunction about it, but I won’t buy clothing with the intention of taking it back to the store after a single wearing.

4. I feel very guilty about the fact that I don’t like animals. I want to like them, and I think they’re fine in their place, but on the whole I don’t really want to be around animals, and I really don’t want to listen to people talk about their animals.

5. I also feel guilty about the fact that I get bored at operas. I used to be an opera singer, and i love singing classical music almost as much as I love writing, designing, and being generally creative. I love performing operatic music, but I have the attention span of a gnat, and sitting through a three hour long opera is really hard. But it doesn’t make me sound very sophisticated, so I don’t tell anyone. Except I guess now I have. And now, so the games can continue, I tag:

  2. Much thanks for the link love Amber. You’re right, coming up with 5-things was no easy task.

Must say, never quite thought of buying clothes only to return them after one outing … hmmm, might be putting my ethics to tests soon:)

  4. Hello

I can’t be bothered with anything these days, but shrug. I just don’t have anything to say recently.

    Bye
